Greetings from Chamber President Craig BrownWelcome to Marion! Thank you for your interest in Marion, Arkansas and Crittenden County. In an aggressive movement of continued growth I congratulate the Mayor, the board of directors and staff, and local business people for the commitment to our city. The creative efforts of our Chamber Committees and our Economic Development Division have successfully created the best of both worlds, a micropolitan area that can compete with any other, while maintaining the “small town” aspects so many other cities fail to offer. By design, this quality of life combined with the retail and industrial growth in Marion keeps us “on the grow”. Superior educational institutions in Marion and Crittenden County attract both consumers and businesses. Our community offers families a sense of place and for major industries, room to expand. It is through the diligent efforts of our community, government and the Chamber of Commerce that this balance has been achieved. For 2010, there is a focus to further develop relationships with existing business and potential companies looking to grow with us. Those of us with strong and vested interests in Marion and Crittenden County will continue the work started by others in recent years. Increased support by the Chamber of Commerce will include serving as a resource for information, a center for business networking opportunities and as the “forward thinking force” for economic development.
