President's Greeting
The Marion Chamber of Commerce would like to welcome you to our community.
Marion is a rapidly growing community, and I am glad to be a part of the future that our city has to offer. You can ask anyone about their experience of living in Marion, and rest assured you will get positive comments.
The Marion Chamber of Commerce is actively involved in economic development by working continuously with industry, business, and residents to improve the quality of life in our community. A current example of this would be the (ACE) Arkansas Community of Excellence Award Program that the chamber will receive in March 2007. This was a community based planning program that involved state, county, and local government, as well as many residents of Marion.
Marion is a community that still has the “small town” atmosphere, but has access to our larger neighbors, West Memphis, Arkansas, and Memphis, Tennessee for other retail and shopping needs.
Our industry and local government work hand in hand to promote growth in our community. We continue to expand our retail development and job sources with additions like Colton’s Steakhouse, Wendy’s, Zaxby’s, and Captain D’s. Our entire school system is exceptional, and always looking for ways to move education to the top levels. Crittenden County is also very fortunate to have one of the better two-year community colleges in the state. Mid-South Community College has recently expanded its efforts to include a Workforce Technology Center that is state of the art. This will assist in the efforts of training our workforce for many years to come.
Marion has a wealth of logistical assets. Marion has welcomed Hino Motors Manufacturing U.S.A. to our industrial park. Marion also has one of the top ranked sites for a large industrial project in the country. Our industrial assets include two intermodal facilities, two major interstate highways (I-40 and I-55), river port access, Federal Express World Hub, and Memphis International Airport.
Thanks again for considering Marion. I know my family is proud to say “We are from Marion Arkansas.” I hope you will be proud to say the same.
Sincerely,
Brian Jackson
President
Marion Chamber of Commerce
